Tuesday was G's birthday...yay! I love birthdays. We went to the Melting Pot for dinner...which was FANTASTIC. Alas, I didn't get any pictures as my camera is on the fritz, but we had a blast. I was a little wary of the place, as we don't tend to like trendy chain restaurants.
We had cheesy spinach and artichoke fondue with bread, chips, vegetables and apples...the apples actually tasted great with cheese...who knew...then the best Caesar salad I have ever had...then duck, steak, chicken, shrimp, pork tenderloin, pot stickers, squash, mushrooms, potatoes, and broccoli (blehhhh). I was seriously freaked out when the waitress brought out the (raw) meat for US to cook, but it was actually fun to cook it. Needless to say, we were very very full...
In other news...we're moving! To a very pretty, newly renovated 2 bedroom apartment in Mountain Brook...it's a much safer area, but I hate not being smack in the middle of the city. :( I will NOT miss the parking situation! Our current apartment has no off-street parking, and there are 4 (legal) parking spaces for 11 cars. It never used to be a big deal, we just parked wherever, but Jefferson County has decided to send a cop to patrol our street for rogue car-parkers...yes, 10th Avenue has its own personal Barney Fife. He comes through around midnight every night, and it's hilarious...everybody starts frantically moving their cars. And I won't miss climbing up 3 flights of stairs trying to carry all 187 bags of groceries because I don't want to go back down again. We're moving in on the 11th, I think, so I will post pics then.
I quit my job a while back, and am still job hunting...so far I've applied at 18 (yes, 18) different places, and nothing yet. I thought it would be fun to be off work for a while, but I'm actually about to go insane! Too much free time! But I'm praying that I find something soon. G is too...cause I'm driving him crazy. :) We've been married for almost 8 months now, and it gets better every day...I love being married. So many people told me that the first year was going to be really hard...we only have 4 months left in the first year, and we haven't killed each other yet, which I'm interpreting as a good sign. :) Haha.
I think that's it for now...until next time...
Shalom! :)
